Leadership is is about relationships and people. Period!. Today many organizations place attention on visible outcomes, achievement and other extrinsic measures. As a result contemporary leaders are caught up on materialism experiencing emotional exhaustion. The story of Villagrande is an excellent example of how we should shape our working environment and create a healthy culture that supports close relationships and socially integrates people at the workplace. Being surrounded with people that support and encourage you is an imperative. Paraphrasing Susan Pinker we must build our corporate culture, and building it and sustaining it is a matter of life and death for the people and the organization as a whole.
